Minimalist French Farmhouse

About This Project

Minimalist French Farmhouse

Set on a hillside with open land beyond, Minimalist French Farmhouse pairs French country architecture with the quiet, pared-back finish its owners chose. A painted-brick wall, weathered gray exposed beams and a plaster range hood give the kitchen its character without crowding the room. A black-and-brass range, pot filler and pale gray inset cabinetry bring in detail where it matters. Through an arched doorway, the slate-blue butler’s pantry has beadboard and open shelving. Wide-plank oak floors carry through to a plaster fireplace with a herringbone brick firebox. Elsewhere, a clawfoot tub and French doors off a bedroom add traditional touches. Painted white brick and a gas lantern mark the entry.
